About Julie Massam

Julie Massam is a contemporary painter with an honours degree in Art & Design from Lancaster University. She has been a professional artist and designer/maker for over 30 years selling her work to clients both nationally and internationally. She recently spent four years living and working in Penzance in Cornwall where she was a member of the Makers' Emporium in St. Just, a member of PZ Studios and exhibited her work 8 times as an Associate Member of the Penwith Society of Artists in St. Ives.

' I am particularly interested in the artistic process, capturing moments of visual intrigue, magic and beauty. I search out new ways of distilling these fleeting moments using paint and mixed media. I am inspired by time and narrative. Old stories, historical sites and anecdotal fragments add to the mix and act as a catalyst in my exploration of time and place'.
